Portage Route Chapter

Founded in 1983, the Chapter is one of the oldest ones affiliated with the national Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation. It is headquartered in Great Falls, Montana and carries a membership of about 150. The Chapter’s objectives are to educate the public and its membership about the Expedition. To this end the Chapter prides itself on presenting quality programs in cooperation with the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and offering field trips to sites along the Trail. The Portage Chapter works to accurately identify and develop appropriate interpretive signage for them.
