Lewis and Clark Honor Guard The Guard at attention Flag Raising
Members of this nonprofit organization research and dress as Lewis and Clark Expedition members did. They conduct flag ceremonies, demonstrations, and daily life skills of the era. The Honor Guard is nationally known for their accuracy and considered by authorities like film documentarist Ken Burns and author Stephen Ambrose as premier first-person interpreters. They have been the focal point for media, photographers, and film documentaries. The Honor Guard does demonstrations at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and participates in festivals, parades, and other activities across Montana. Their mission of educating the public is done by providing color and life to the history they portray.
