Finding an connection like this while trying to expand my knowledge of history into a different area is part of the fun of reading for me. It shows that things in history are all interconnected and not like we studied them in school; one event at a time, and not always in order.
Recently I have been hearing some bits and pieces of several new research projects in the mill that are re-examining some of the "old standards" of the Lewis and Clark legacy. Sometimes it needs a new set of eyes or an examination from a different perspective to more fully comprehend some parts of history. This is how history stays alive and interesting.
I am not at liberty to go into details on these projects, but they will see the light of day when their authors think the time is right.
