The new Scholar -in-Residence program is alive and out on our website thanks to the development by Ella Mae Howard and Sue Buchel. We also had some technical assistance from Jay Buckley.
It is now time to dig into the updates to the Reaching the Rockies sponsored interpretive signs in the Helena canyon. I will get a more complete report on that project available on "Portage Chapter/Activities" page of this website. A committee had determined previously that we needed to update six of the signs.
The new item that I have just done is to build a page on Facebook. I intend to use that page to help promote our local Lewis and Clark activities in a new way. This is an expansion of our efforts in digital communications. I will use it as a medium to connect with the national Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage group and their 800 friends. I will be putting out photos of activities and other pertinent information of what's going on in our area. I will also connect with this website from my Facebook postings.
I have already posted photo galleries of hikes to Fort Mountain and to the Two Medicine Fight Site. My plan is to get several more photo galleries posted so people can see what we are doing. Hopefully this will get more local people interested in us. Time will tell.
